Status on 22 October 2026
- Men's UCI WorldTour 2026: calendar finished. The season closed with the Tour of Guangxi, 13 to 18 October 2026, from Chongzuo to Nongla (Brujulabike; Domestique). Wikipedia (secondary), seen in search, gives Jarno Widar (Belgium) first, Tom Pidcock second and Louis Barre (France) third; that is a single source and we have not confirmed it.
- UCI Women's WorldTour 2026: calendar finished. The last race was the Tour of Chongming Island, 9 to 11 October 2026, won by Lorena Wiebes (Wikipedia, secondary). The same Wikipedia page's summary box gives the season end as 15 October, which conflicts with its own table.
- Final 2026 UCI World Ranking: not found. No UCI release of a final 2026 ranking appeared in our research. The latest 2026 standings we found were interim, from early September 2026, so we do not name a 2026 ranking leader for riders, teams or nations.
How the top tier is organised
In UCI Regulations Part 2, Road Races (version on 1 July 2025), the UCI WorldTour and UCI Women's WorldTour calendars are set by the Professional Cycling Council and proposed to the UCI Management Committee for approval (article 2.1.001). The same article defines the road season as running from the day after the previous year's final World Championships or WorldTour event to the end of the last one in the current year. Article 2.1.005 lists the men's race classes, including 1.UWT and 2.UWT for the WorldTour and 1.Pro and 2.Pro for the UCI ProSeries, and articles 2.1.005 and 2.2.001 name the team types: UCI WorldTeams, UCI Women's WorldTeams, UCI ProTeams, UCI Women's ProTeams and UCI continental teams. Part 2 has been amended since that version, and the later changes were not read.
For 2026 the UCI registered 18 UCI WorldTeams, 16 UCI ProTeams, 14 UCI Women's WorldTeams and 7 UCI Women's ProTeams. The UCI says men's and women's top-tier licences were awarded together for the first time, for a three-year cycle from 2026 to 2028, and that men's licences were decided on UCI World Ranking points from 2023 to 2025 because more teams applied than there were places. More on race classes is on road races explained.

All from Wikipedia's 2026 Women's WorldTour page (secondary). The same page says the Tour de Romandie Feminin (4 to 6 September) was cancelled and postponed to 2027, and the Tour of Guangxi Women (18 October) was cancelled. The Grand Tour and Monument results are on their own pages: the Monuments, Giro d'Italia Women, Tour de France Femmes and La Vuelta Femenina.

The UCI's release on the final 2025 UCI World Ranking gives these leaders.

The UCI also recorded that UAE Team Emirates XRG won 95 races in 2025, beating Columbia-HTC's 85 from 2009; that Lorena Wiebes won 25 races; and that 1,634 riders from 114 nations scored ranking points.
Why we name no 2026 leader
A ranking is only final when the body that runs it publishes it. Until the UCI releases the final 2026 UCI World Ranking, any 2026 table is provisional, and a provisional leader is not a result.
